or a brand of synthetic that runs ok
Also what exactly changes when playing with the numbers..IE what goes on with the igen if you increase the de-tach etc..tech support is no help..they tell you to raise or lower but with out knowing what the f the values are changing it is like driving blind LOL

I dont have experience with that paper....but...Ill take a guess since youre mentioning transfer..

explain "looks like crap" LOL I personally have about 400 versions of that exact statement :)

If it is random white specks within a solid color, resembling snow, LOWER the transfer current setting 10 pts in media settings. Do not lower the last box.

Keep lowering and trying for the side thats the problem(or both) until snow stops. then you might find that somewhere around 40-ish it'll start fading color. If its really dry thin paper, you might also notice mega static.

my guess is you'll settle around 60-70 to make that paper run.

If its not snowy, transfer settings wont really do anything. I've never had to raise it.....but you could try?

YOu say one side is ok the other is bad? is either side coated?

again, let us know the "crap" of which you speak....thatll help a little

thats actually not true, I DID have to raise it before, because I went too low on one then forgot, having changed the WRONG one (vague memory) then running a job later on and looked terrible...

i suggest making a second media for testing....

first side has snow along with white lines and
criss cross color line patterns .like a half tone
    side two is perfect
it is like the paper needs to be pre-charged to run
but we tried running a blank job on the stock then a real job with no luck!
at $1 a sheet there is not a lot of room to play around with settings!

$1 a sheet?! whoa. For that much, it should run itself. :)

thats weird. are both sides exactly the same coating wise? have you tried running side one, then put back in drawer to run side 2? or both sides variable? been there.....

    Transfer A+B 100 side 1

    had the same issue

I fought that one for quite a while. Problem was that the stock was leaving shreds of the stock in the tab blade. could only run about 10 sheets at a time. we upgraded to the IGen4 Diamond edition and that really helped. but over all it was the stock we now use works way better its from PPG industries its a 10mil Teslin. the settings we use is Uncoated,,, finish regular, LAB: 97 ,0.1, 1.6
    Substrate Attributes: Detack -10
    Transfer A&B 120
    Transfer C 0
    Pretransfer:
    A -1919
    B 15.63
    C 2.97
    D 0.0156
    Hope this helps
