youve been good to me. :p

OK so to start, we did some network maintenance with new IPs, which caused much hassle, but got through it. Late last night(long day) i try to send files to igen via my hot folder... I get "inaccessible" I assume this is more network troubles, just remap, reconnect new ip etc.... NOPE.

freeflow sittin there with an error. "unable to initialize locale" reboots no help. any thoughts...

Milo W. Sorry Its been pretty bad here, felt bad, but glad I didnt send you that software. probably gonna need it LOL.

semi related question: anybody ever utilize the "print from file" option with files an a usb thumb drive? I have been unable to do this. Way way way back when I knew nothing it worked once. Now it does not. Cant find the usb, and when I do, it freezes...so maybe guessing thats related to the software crash...

    have a nice weekend!

    EVERY DAMNED TIME!

Just when I give up, and place the service call, it decides to work.... all I did was reboot for the 8th time. but, I unplugged the USB thumb drive. maybe somethings wrong with it...? It works fine on the PC.

anyways, heres the email Isent to the scheduling team that ill be able to make the mailing deadline, after sending the emergency, better reschedule" email, you Igen guys might get a kick out of it...
FALSE ALARM, Sorry folks. please go on about your normal business day.

Apparently I did not see in the manual to complete 8 reboots. or maybe I wasnt facing towards Mecca and didnt say enough hail marys when I hard booted it the first 7 times... alas...

What size is the USB Drive? I know free flow has trouble using anything I believe over 32 gig. and yes I do print from files from a USB Drive and had no problems at all, but it was a smaller USB Drive like eight or 16 gig.
Where was the USB plugged in? At the front or in the back?

there's a command in Unix in a terminal window you can use to stop and start your mounting program for USB

There are a couple of versions of Freeflow that only recognize certain USB sticks. Kingston is one of them and I think Sandisk is another. This was done by Sun Microsystems and was a surprise to me when I went to reload the Licenses

    Hey Mark,

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have an issue with the top tray of my iGen 4 saying it won't allow 26 inch paper. 26 inch is enabled on PSIP, 26 inch enabled for the trays on the freeflow. I have version 81.C2.03.86 . Am I just dumb or am I missing something? I looked in NVM for both stackers and the value is set for 521 for purge tray min Process Mm (16082) and can't be changed. Any ideas?

OK evidently I needed to restart the PSIP after enabling the XXL feed in FreeFlow to get it to go to the top tray...DUH!

welp...its doing it again today...freeflow is alive, but I cant ping it. weird.

So..just for funsies. I'm posting this.

the little tidbit about using the correct type of usb drive SanDisk or Kingston, .... I was able to get files to it via USB...but get this... I have an old Targus SD card to USB adapter. but the "SD" is actually a MICROsd adapter, that has my OLD AS HELL blackberry micro SD that i have had sitting here collecting dust. Brought it in to print all the old kid pics when my crackberry died.

usb>SD>microSD in this order. Only the SD adapter is Sandisk brand. :)

plug that whole load of nonsense in, and my "action" screen pops right up. It's printing. LOL <shakes head>

again. they need a new more accurate Company motto. "XEROX, its french for UMMMMMM, I dunno"

    W-T-F. I <3 Xerox. I really do.

We have 3 igen's running the freeflow RIP and 1 running creo, i made a rookie mistake making a hotfolder on each machine with the same name, took me a while before i found out it was causing the fatal network error ^^

Hmmm... I have an error sometimes that tells me one of my queues exists already on the appletalk network....I have my two docuprints that I t hink one shares a queue name... but its been that way, never hurt a thing.

Anyways, my tech popped in, he was nearby, plus i needed some parts. He just killed it, then brought it back up with a "repair boot" its working again.

    for now lol.
