What is the max width of Igen 4? It is 14.33" correct? I believe that is max allowed to enter into front end at least...

And, is that PRINTABLE width? or will there be .33" extra margins? THinking in nexpress terms here....you cant print bigger than the LED's....but Igen is different so I thought Id ask....

---------------------------------------

reason I ask: I was told this when I was handed the igen as a project... I tested it, and it wrinkled edges of everything over 14. so I do not use it.

today, I had a jam in area 9 "cooler"? not sure if it has a technical name... pulled on the handle and it moved...I noticed it was out of alignment!!!! it was slid forward a solid 1.5" out of the mount. bad juju!

After some "gentle coaxing" see: cursing and banging loudly..I got er back in...

But, I'm curious. could that have been the problem all along? SHould I get paper and retest?

thanks and happy printing!

We print on 14.33 x 20.5 all the time without any problems. Having had your decurler sub-assembly out of alignment as you mentioned can cause your sheet to skew while entering decurler rolls. Also, if the main stock size you print is 14", this can cause 14" wear mark on you fuser roller and in turn cause wrinkles. If your stock is skewing due to wear mark, bad bearings, bad cantact arc this will cause wrinkles.

  • I'm surprised you didn't have any CMT errors as that area houses the ILS. The screw that secures the transport is bottom left (on an XXL config). Non XXL may be different as it is a different transport and I can't remember off the top of my head :)
