This runs inboard to outboard. Every 5 or so prints. It keeps coming back. My manager makes me change the belt every time we get this but it only masks it for a day or so. Thoughts? Its been haunting me for over a year.

Not sure if it is 5 exactly just a rough guess.

if it is the belt I thought it was every 7th?
Are you cleaning the rollers underneath the belt?

Yes I clean them and the backer bars every time that I change the belt. I also wipe down where the ATA should be as we do not have one. Could this be Transfer Deck related?

Every 5th image if SRA3. Do you change the spots blade with the PRB and which cleaner do you have Center Blade or the one with the blade above both brushes?

Yes I change the Cleaning blade with every belt change. We are running the Igen 3 Cleaning housing in a Igen 4 so it is the higher up one.

I get this occasionally too, I think it comes on when the machine has been sat doing nothing overnight?

It could be. we only run one shift. Does yours go away or keep being a problem until the belt is changed?

Yep a belt change does the trick. I've tried changing all the bits in the cleaner, giving the ATA a good clean but it still comes back.
It looks like an impression from around the ATA area could it be that the belt is getting over stretched?

Yeah I cant be changing a belt every time that this shows up. It happened a day after a belt change. It has been happening since I got this machine. I have emailed my service guy but he has not gotten back to me and of course it needs to be resolved but there is no time to have it resolved.

Something is exposing that belt while it sits. in the machine by touching or charging it. Maybe try unlatching the belt unit overnight while it sits, to keep it away from everything....until tech can have a look? no idea, Just a thought.

The spot in the photo doesnt look like something that could happen while running.

this depends on sheet length. running at 17" I think it is 5 sheets per revolution. thus a mark every 5th sheet. Handy thing to know on whatever machine you run. Ask me how I know this on the igen It was a long terrible day LOL ruined every 5th sheet of a variable job while i was away from the machine. and not enough paper to redo the whole 1000 sheets. had to go through, program and rerun every 5th page. fun times.... :)

Kodak digimasters and Xerox Docuprints are 3 frames, we are constantly watching out for spots. We had an older lady running a multi sheet AND variable on a Kodak(heidelberg at the time), and didnt notice a label stuck to the loop (belt) for half a shift. turned out to be a 3 day reworking ordeal for her......no joke.

    do you have an Igen4?

If so there is an LED light that stays lit while the machine is on Idle.

This will cause bands in the belt similar to what you are seeing.

There is a software update that can turn these LED's off.

I am not sure if this is it but it's possible.

This doesn't look like this problem - Pre Fuser Sensor Ghosting - see attachment.

This problem looks more like the image is being disturbed ie Spots blade jumping as it travels over the PRB seam

I can't see clearly enough from the picture but if your issue looks the same as the attachment you need to have T408 fitted which is a wiring change

I've had that problem also in the past and got the wiring altered. I will try and get a good photo of the band next time I see it.

    Problem hopefully solved!

According to my tech. It is the paper transport sensor closest to the belt staying on after the machine is cycled down. It produces inferred light that over time exposes the belt.
