Mysterious software

It just likes to disappear....

4th time now...maybe someone has experienced this and can help me AND my friendly service tech.. I know hes frustrated...


Igen gets "press fault-restart press" unsure of code...

so, I restart, it doesn't come back. sits on the black loading screen says "checking" forever. when the desktop comes up, I get no logon window, requiring a software reload.

The problem happened today today, -yes im working on sunday - BEfore the restart, i noticed it was blinking on A2. probably a jam when I left it running friday? I went to remove it, and then NO LIGHTS on a2. Now, I remember the first time he reloaded, he had trouble getting it to come back with right config, not showing a2 module,.... maybe related, no idea.

weird stuff. I know hes gotta be tired of doing software loads....

any comments are appreciated..

 

Possibly the PSIP hard drive is on the way out. I just had to replace one as it would not restart and lost the home directory

I would lean towards the hard drive also.

 

Is the filter dirty...we had trouble with the free-flow end putor over-heating ...caused all kinds of witchcraft!!!!!

hard drive indeed, but apparently, you cannot just buy a hard drive.. they must get me a whole new computer. Hey, Its just money, right?

Yep whole new PSIP. Nothing is spared for the PSIP. You should get the new smaller go faster version

You should be able to find the exact kind on Ebay, install and load the software no problem. Make sure you get the license file before reloading though!!

thats all she wrote folks! came in today, BLANK screen rebooted, fine.. Then Igen stopped running. BLack screen again-Root errors...looks like unix stuff...


RIP PSIP...you were good to me.... LOL

hope he can get one fast.

 

We have them in our stores over here in the UK so next day or couriered depending on what time of the day it failed

Tech called, its on "back order." Has to "escalate" wont be tomorrow. hes gonna try doing software reload #5 to get me through the pile of small jobs I have.

 

Oh,since youre coming, bring me some tickets for a premier league soccer match too please. hee hee. JK.

 

Is this an Igen 3 or 4? Have the tech check the router for connection problems with the modules.

I am sitting at my desk...stressing...I believe I have lost all my papers and settings. hard drive is long gone.. all the papers I use, that was a lot of work.

I'm going to go curl up in the fetal position and cry. LOL oh well, there were alot of useless ones that I needed to get rid of too.

happy note: new pc is here. TINY little optiplex dell. like 1/3 the size of the original...

 

I take it you didn't backup your stock library then

When your tech installs the new PSIP ensure that he has the correct network port (one is for iGen150 only) and that the SATA bios setting is correct. If in doubt the info is in searchlite

nope.

didnt know it was an issue....never even crossed my mind.

looks like he got software up, but now Igen giving him ROS errors.

 

running...gave us a few errors though.

and, the "recommended stock list" is foreign. LOL. thats ok though, I wouldnt "recommend" running any of the paper I use

 

They loaded the wrong one when installing in XSMU. You can load your own by using the Load recommended media list from Net from the media menu in the stock libray

got i. it was available on local.... clicking net option only gave me australia and europe.
