    tricky questions.

1: life span is good. but depends on what you do and how you do it. Mine is 7 years old almost, and its one of the first igen4 models released.

2: maintenance can be what you want, or whatever theyll offer. It depends on what you want to pay for. For example: I have 5x8 serivce coverage. m-f for 8 hrs. And in someplaces, there are 3rd party services offered. you'll need to talk to xerox directly, or a 3rd party to find that out.

Generally the lifespan of the machine that Xerox has mentally is around 4-5 years. (You can then upgrade your machines and get recontracted)

Sure they can keep running well after. If you can get parts for them.

Where I'm from for instance the iGen3 is no longer serviced by Xerox and hasn't been for awhile.

The only people that operate them are techs who have decided to become operators.

Maintenance wise they are pretty robust. I went 4 months without a technical service call by doing endless bandaid fixes and regular preventative maintenance. (no time for downtime!)

My current employments contract is 8.30am-5pm monday-friday. You can ask for night coverage too but it'll be extra in your contract. Otherwise one off visits are $400-$600 here. All Parts are free with our contract.

I've used iGen 3, 4 and 150 EPS. iGen 5 just got released down under. DO not go anywhere near new/used iGen3's.

Why not the iGen 3? I have 2 that I'm running in my shop now.
