Igen4 and Igen3 Toners

Hey guys,
New to the group, but I have a question. Does anyone know what the differenct/consequenses are to putting an Igen 4 toner in a 3? I know its taboo. But I have a newbie that did it, I didn't realize until I changed out the bottle due to it being empty. Any idea what I am in for?

iGen 3 toner contains a small percentage of carrier. iGen4 toner is just toner. The dev tank that has run the wrong toner may give you PQ issue due to the reduced amount of carrier but should recover with the correct type. If worried perform a dev change. It's no biggy tbh - putting the wrong colour dev and toner in the wrong tank is more of a pain

I have customers that alternate between igen 3 and 4 toner on an igen 3. Doesn't cause any issues. If you wanted you could by a developer carrier for the igen 4 and add the correct amount to the igen 4 toner then...voila!

 

Really!? That is very interesting to know. At least I know now that I have a back up plan if I run low on 3 toner... in a pinch. Thank you so much!
