    Hi Guys,

Frustrating issue with skew on the XXL sheet size. We have a 150 with Fiery.

I would like to manually edit the skew, but not use IOP as this still makes it out. I am happy for it to be a one size fits all. In PSP/NVM edit, i know how to manually edit the horizontal and vertical backup for each side.

We also have a new Nuvera 157, which we can edit the skew manually, it would be awesome to get this on the iGen 150.

Also anyone know what the difference is on the iGen 5 apart from the extra colour. As other than that i cannot work out what is different.

    Thanks,

    Charlie

In addition to having a 5th color stationn, the iGen5 has added some IOP changes. There is a new feature called IOP fine adjustment which allows you to make small changes to IOP to get better results. Paper path is the same as the iGen150.

    Hi Charlie,

Are you running coated or uncoated heavy or light GSM?

No particular stock. Just everything is 1-2mm skewed on Xxl sheets. Even after an Iop it might be 1/2mm out for a couple of days then goes back to 1-2 mm.

Thats not to bad for 660 sheet. Reason i mention the stock is because some light stocks once they hit the fuser can shrink 1-2mm specially uncoated. Best way to check if this is the case is to measure a sheet fresh from a ream then measure once its been through the press and see if it a shorter.all depends on the moisture content.
    Hope this helps.

To be honest, it is also skewed on SRA3 but because the sheet is much shorter, it's never an issue. I do run a lot of 100gsm uncoated 320x660. but like i said, it's pretty much the same no matter what stock i use, if its 300gsm 364x660 or the 100gsm uncoated. i will check the fresh sheet vs printed though.

I can work with it, its just annoying that i have to live with it this way.

Any Xerox Engineers know if the PSIP for the 150 can be upgraded like the 5 which has extra controls for skew? As i'm sure it must be just a software thing that they have added for this. As with the functionality being added on the Nuvera.

For the 150, a 1-2mm skew on long sheets is "within spec" as far as Xerox is concerned, so there's really not going to be a lot of help from that end.

The best bet is to clean your drive rollers throughout the registration area, but also around your duplex turns so they can get some good grip and try to keep that long of a sheet straight during the turns. Some fine image shifts to split the difference between front and back can make that 1-2mm skew mostly unnoticable by anyone not looking for it.

And sometimes, if the gods smile upon you, as it runs, it will snap into place.

All 26 inch prints we make on our 4 are skewed on side 2. "Within Xerox spec".

I've had this problem with one of my iGen4s with 350gsm 26" media (though not on the other one, weirdly). Eventually skews badly enough to return a registration fault. The techs have been through all manner of theories and parts trying to fix it, to no avail.

Are you on PSIP AP3.3 with tag T-381 (rsptc PWB)? If you are, there's are 2 NVMs you need to enable and then do IOP on >12 inch and <12 inch paper. Especially if the IOP NVMs were reset or a reload of PSIP software.

If you're on AP4.0 there is the TE Edge Registration kit for 26" also. It is tag 438.
