    RIP Igen.

recently, its been running great... but after long runs, if left dormant, it shuts COMPLETELY down. Genny did that to me twice. After Multiple reboots it would come back though. "press fault"

This morning, the third time, she wont come back at all. :( Hit power button to turn on, bunch of random clicks, then nothing.

It did come back first thing this morning, but when it started to initialize, it shut right back off, and thats where we are.

    tech on the way....

anyone experience this? no breakers are tripped.

The only problem I have encountered with RIP (DFE) is overheating and disconnecting from PSIP due to dirty filters in front of unit. I work in an old warehouse building and the 100 year old dust finds it way into the laser room. Make sure these are properly maintained. Hope this helps.

hmmm nah this is different, thank you though!

    SOLUTION:

so looks like the relays for main power are both shot. or at least one. the little clear one visibly sparks and does not engage entirely, and there is another giant black one. im sure they are both just for distribution.... parts got here 1hr ago. tech replacing now. fingers crossed.

makes sense, the way it went slowly, but would work sometimes. relays do that...

    lets hope! :)

We once had a similar problem, the problem was the on/off switch gone bad, and would sometimes pop out, had nothing to do with relays/power supply

yep that was one of the solutions.... :)

turns out, I had a bad power supply. thats what was causing all the shutdowns in the first place... got the new relays in today, went to start running, and POP! two power supplies back there. One would die every time I started printing, the other would stay on. then didnt turn on at all. no lights. No errors(besides communication errors), no nothing.

the plot sickens! 4th day down now....

new power supply, it started up.... then died again. now just the clicks again. reading body language of my tech... he appears as if he is scouting spots to lay explosive charges... :)

stressin now.... maybe its mad at me for crackin jokes in that "i hate igen" thread? LOL

Did you ever find what the remedy for this was? We are having the same problem, power supply went out, replaced and now doing the same again.

I BELIEVE this is when we lost a leg of power. the middle leg of the 3 leg was out. SO SOME of the igen circuits would be live, but one was out.... it would appear to start running, but then be missing that leg. I dont know if this is related to your prob or not, but it may be worth a shot to check your power...?

Gives us some insight to the possible cause. Thank you!
