Fuser Area-IGen150

whenever I print on preprinted paper(from an offset press), especially gloss paper, i get ghosting from the fuser area. there is buildup on the web assy also. I have to roll the web assy to get to a clean spot and then it goes away for awhile. i've tried increasing the gsm to get more heat and it is better but it still is a problem. is there a way to increase the amount of fuser fluid being released? maybe the rollers are just getting too dry?

 

The problem is the pre printed paper. After going through an offset there will be dust etc. Are you also using a UV drying ink that has been allowed to dry. The web is one big diagnostic tool that you can use to see if the paper is causing a problem. It should have a light to no coating of dirt on it if the iGen is happy. Any toner on there is toner that isn't on the output sheet. Have you checked your contact arc lately, does the same stock non pre printed run OK? The fuser will only run hotter if the stock is coated and above 180gsm. There are only two settings adjusted by stock programming - Normal mode and thick production mode. EIP actually lowers the temperature of the fuser but increases the dwell time

Why is it that people instantly blame the machine when in fact it is the rubbish they force through it?

contact arc is good. yes only happens on pre-printed stock. i know the pre-printing/powder are the problem was just wondering if there was a work around to help. thanks.

ive been dealing with this for YEARS on the Kodak digimasters. presses run with bad UV lamps just keep on going. then we get millions of sheets with wet ink. clean ceramic heater rollers every 2 hrs.

IGEN has been more forgiving here, for me.

by ghosting, do you mean "fuser offset"? picking up the ink, and building up until it lays back down?

how do your heat rollers look when you clean it?

 

yeah,i guess "fuser offset" would be a better description. the image will repeat, faded,over and over again on the paper. there is spacing between the images, usually a few inches apart but not always. the heat rollers look ok but I still clean them, roll the web assy and start again. any thoughts?
