fine lines

Hi,
we have two igen4 and both have the same problem. From time to time there are fine coloured lines on the paper. Sometimes M, sometimes C, sometimes K and definitively in Y the same.
The lines are always in different positions.
Any ideas what it is?

 

Are they in the process direction, perfectly straight and vary in length as well as position? If so your donor rollers on the dev tanks may need replacing as they can cause this symptom.

 

check also, the bank of magnets(forgot their name again) directly beneath the cleaning brushes. chunks of metal, and developer can build up on that and cause lines randomly. I had a screw stuck to mine, that had developer building up on it, eventually tall enough to cause PR lines. though in my experience, they're usually quite broad lines.

easy thing Worth a look...I clean mine often.

 

check the tab assist blade. Make sure it isn't slightly bent up or worn. It should be parallel when in resting position

 

Could be debris in the tanks getting onto the wire mods and then being cleaned off - then coming back etc. When was the last dev change and TDK sensor calibration done by your service engineer?
