I'm looking for some expertise and/or documentation on using background forms on FreeFlow 6. I have about 6k 24 page booklets to print with back cover having address info and trying to make rip time as quick as possible and not have to generate 6k files to print.

Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but the background form would just be the booklet itself with no variable. The variable file would be 12 empty spreads aside from the address on the appropriate page at the appropriate position.

Set the background form on the output file and let her go.

On the occasion of having to restart a file in the middle, make sure you are starting at the beginning of a book. FreeFlow doesn't calculate where the background form "should be" as though it were starting from page 1, so your background form will be offset X number of pages, dropping the address in the middle of the book somewhere.

can you make postscript files? obviously I don't know what software you have for print programming....this is my MO. we use GMC.(inspire designer)

So, you'll have 12 pages within this booklet, and only the cover is variable? If so, I suggest postscript, and on the freeflow it will cache any repeated data for RIP. it might take a minute to get started, but fly once it goes. I learned this lesson quite difficultly :)

are they multiple drawer pulls? call them different colors (I'm doing this now via postscript files) i have a reply form followed by an address label.
