I had a post about this in the WIKI thread. But its gotten more dire. after my long 3 days...its still having issues. opposite now, though. LOW temp, and what used to happen only during standby, is now happening during print as well, causing jams. 5 minute loss every approx 20 minutes

its clicking again, and I'm getting work done, but I'm going slightly nuts. the two techs have abandoned me lol

pretty much everything fuser-related had been replaced.... relays. FSC board. thermistors, thermostats... I have new heat rolls to put in..... at some point... but that doesnt appear to be the problem?

what could I be missing...? another relay? thermistor not adjusted right, should they be "smooshed" hard up against fuser? One of the fusers I put in got ruined immediately, gouges where that thermistor was. like it was too tight.

    thanks gents.

Check the contact arc between the fuser roll and the external heat rolls.

Also make sure that the external heat rolls are stable in their chassis. I had one where the inboard bearing was ground to dust and it was wobbling all over the place.

    morning cargopants!

didnt run too bad for me, but the lady I have in here working OT for me at night had them every 15-30 min. I feel bad.

thanks for the reply. :) opened it up.... there was toner chunks on the thermistors. Also, tightened in those thermistors when I cleaned them ALSO, I adjusted that thermostat OUT slightly. . My thinking is maybe it will allow the fuser to heat up more? fingers crossed that was it.

    AND....

as Im typing, it stopped :( LOL 14 minutes.

cargo!!! went and looked! upper heat roll wobbles like crazy. outboard.

if that fixes it, you win a prize. (virtual prize of course) haha

    yo.

cargopants. for your prize, see my signature. i will leave that there for one month.

check the attachment :) sort of obvious. the rest were no slouches either.

those rollers are kind of a ***** to replace. not difficult, just "fiddly" never done one, theyre more than likely original to the machine- built april 2010.

my tech was on Vaca today. might not thought of that had you not said something.

WIll update if its still running in 30 minutes.

its been a LONG FRIGGIN WEEK.

Yeah, feeding two lamps without a tube is a bit troublesome.

Hopefully they're not original... Or you really baby that machine. My tech usually switches them out every 3 or so fuser maintenances. Or the ones on a 4 are hella sturdier than the 150...

Glad I was able to get one right for ya!

Igen is barely used. (relative to the rest of the world) it operates on a emergency basis, mostly. Backup to two Cipress 500's

very little of what I do is planned for me. its always sit,sit,sit,sit... RUUUUNNNNNN NOWWWWWW :)

fall is always a madhouse.... and right now, our laser dept (12 kodak digis running pre-offset printed paper) is SWAMPED. I'm doing their black and white overflow to ease the strain. 24-7. and its flushing out all the little imperfections I would normally overlook on Igen, since I only use it a couple hrs a day, usually. 2 jams/printer faults, usually no big deal if its once a day. but she had 27 of them last night in 8 hrs.

5+ yrs, still just shy of 9 million clicks. :)

yep. they dont know how to use it. keep giving me generic prints. Think we've got the wrong folks distributing work at the moment. I mean, its here, use it.....

anyways...that was it. hasnt stopped yet. 4500 sheets.

think its building for awhile. i only had the tech order heat rollers on a whim too. oh and because we gouged one....

did have the error once while emptying the stacker. but I can live with that.

    thanks again.

IGEN still does this. 10-4403. and always has done so....

50% of stops for stacker or drawer. start it, walk awaw "why is that POS not running!!!...OH..." then walk back over

annoying, irritating, maddening...yes... but not showstopping. pretty much everything is new in there. so is there a value setting somewhere thats flaky?

Did you ever check the contact arc between the Xrolls and the fuser roll during the last bout of issues?
