Xerox DC250, need help about cleaning

Hi there, I was wondering if someone can tell what is the problem with these spots that i get when i print, i am cleaning the drum units but there is no spot like the ones in the picture, does anyone have an idea what to do. Thanks

 

could look like the belt cleaner needs a replacement..

 

Try to print lower speed, then belt cleaner might works better

 

As Neess said, I'd also suspect the cleaning blade assembly first. Sometimes the blade itself needs to be replaced; sometimes the whole assembly needs to be replaced (it's attached to the transfer belt unit with two screws if I remember correctly; sometimes taking it out and just cleaning it, blowing the waste toner that has built up with a blower and wiping off any excess waste toner, and reinstalling is enough to clean up prints for another 50,000 prints.

 

Guys please stop! Take it from the copier tech - no blowing. If it is a copier - vacuum it. Jeff if guy will follow what you say, after blowing the waste toner, he might need to wipe excess toner from entire office, change of closes and change of carpet. Take that part, take a 3M copier vacuum and vacuum it. If you plan on doing your own repairs - buy one if it is just one time thing - invite a tech and let him do it. Cleaning toner from all over is a lot more expensive than copier tech visit and blowing clouds of toner outdoors it is just wrong. Also - household vacuums will not do - toner particles will go trough the filter...

 

Afropro, print a 12x18 page and measure repeatability of the defect - this might help you to pin-point the problem, there is a table that explains if defect repeats every 43mm (for example) it is a PCR roller, if 65mm it is a Drum etc.

 

I blew the waste toner off my cleaner blade assembly OUTSIDE. I didn't have a powerful enough vacuum to do a good job getting the caked toner out of all the little pads and crevices. It's good you mentioned this as I learned the lesson not to blow toner off anything anywhere near the machine with a bad mistake many years ago which required cleaning all the rollers under the transfer belt because of one careless puff of canned air. Lesson learned. Under my service contract twice in the first million prints they've replaced the cleaning blade assembly and I've cleaned it once with just a blade change where I made due with what I had to get printing as I had a job I needed to finish for the next day. (I know, I know, you can count this bit of waste toner blown into the air outside against my environmental record, but overall I'm pretty good to the environment to make up for this one small sin )

 

I understand, not saint in that matter myself. I just think, "Take it outside" should be present in your post. What if guy won't figure it out and does it in the room. It may not be a big part to visibly contain a lot of toner but I think everyone will be a big time surprised to learn how many square feet of office space can be covered by that puff
