Need help to tell the difference between :

Stand alone EFI FIery RIP server (with no monitor - see attached pic) and

Integrated one (the one that's built in at the back of the machine)

    Thanks

There are many advantages to having the external server (EX) faster rip times, color management and various document options.

If you are only printing documents and some graphics go with the cheaper bustled, but if you plan on printing graphics with large files the EX is the way to go.

In my opinion the bustled Fiery is ok for either simpler print jobs or if you're using the printer to print long runs where RIP time doesn't matter a great deal. I was fine with our bustled Fiery and had no regrets on taking the savings when printing runs of 1000-1400 where I did a test print or two and then let it run for 30-70 minutes, but when printing short run booklets for example where it's a 24 page booklet and you only want a half dozen copies, the rip is processing for a long while and keeping the printer idle.
