    Hi all,

We have a C60 with standard 'green' dmp controller. We should have bought it with a rip, but did not.

At the moment we just cannot afford the cost of a rip, nor do we have enough work to warrant purchasing one.

Ive just tried upgrading the memory from 4gb to 8gb using the same make and spec of memory but 8 gb instead of 4 gb, after reboot the config report was showing that the control board firmware was ignoring the extra 4 gb and just reporting the same 4gb memory.

The c60 was happy to print with the new 8gb installed but I have now removed it and put back the original 4gb, either the control board was not seeing the ram properly or the config report was not showing the extra 4gb.

So, unless someone says, "the 8gb will work and make things faster, even if config does not report it", I will not put the 8gb back in.

Im now trying to tweak the memory and spooling, if its going to speed things up ?
I have increased postscript memory from 71680 - 131072, surely that has to help ?

    Now im looking at spooling:

LPD is set at default "spool to hard disk" but can be set to "spool to memory" with 512 - 32768, would this change make processing faster ?

IPP is set at default "no spooling" 256, but can be set to "no spooling" 1024 or set to "spool to hard disk" 1024.

Port 9100 is set at default to "256" but can go up to 1024

Would changing any of the above speed up processing ?

    Thanks, Michael
