Clear Toner

Does anyone know of a way to disable the clear toner usage on a job to job basis, is there something in diagnostics that allows it to be turned off, not all jobs are rough textured linen etc.

We have a 1000 and I'm a bit confused by your question. In order for us to use the clear coat we have to tell the machine to do it. Are you saying your machine clear coats everything?

 

OMG Just want to shut it off, the machine uses clear toner at all times when running textured stocks. its not like you are adding another image, it does it by itself - automatically, looking for a way to disable. The machine will do a spot or a flood, just want to disable for other uses.
I believe this is clear - ha ha

 

Under Image Quality go to Use Embedded Clear as your default. Then if no embedded.....no clear coat. I know our 1000 does not automatically clear coat when we print textured.

All the 800 - 1000 series add clear in a small amount, yours does as well, you just do not see it.

Check your levels if in doubt even when the file does not call for it, it still dispenses clear toner as it images.

Looking for a way possibly in a diagnostic setting to cut out the use.

Interesting. We've had our 1000 for a long time (over 5,600,000 imp) and if it is always dispensing clear toner the amount is negligible. Otherwise I would have been ordering a lot more clear toner. If it is, it could be the machine has to.

 

You state all 800 and 1000 series add "clear" yet the "clear" is an option so I don't see why a machine with the "clear" option would automatically add it to every job. I've been running an 800 series for over 2-years and have yet to replace the clear toner.

if you want to disable clear toner you have to go into Xerox Diagnostic mode and have to make some adjustment in service entry. Still you need clarification i will post it deeply
