Do a tray alignment in diagnostics mode.

Since you've been at this a while without success, I'd go into service mode, then under tray alignment I'd zero out the x and y alignments setting them back to 0 for a fresh start. Exit. In your command workstation or fiery settings, I'd also zero out the alignment offset setting it back to zero for a fresh start with it all set to 0 offset.

Print a test sheet with a thin black outline rectangle that is slightly smaller than the page size and note its position.

Then start with service mode tray alignment. Enter a new x or y offset for the tray or bypass (tray5) you are using in service mode for the tray alignment adjustment. Note that it's set for each tray 1 - 4 under the machine and then tray 5 and other for the bypass or high capacity feeder.

Do x and y adjustment separately, exit, then re-test. A couple times I was running a long job and tired and I mixed up x and y and was surprised that my adjustment had an unexpected result :)

If the image position on the paper isn't moving, triple check that you are setting the correctly tray/side -- there are three pages of adjustment inputs if I remember correctly.

Once you get the front side adjusted correctly do the back side. I'd do the service mode adjustment first, then do the page alignment sheet front and back in fiery setup.

On ours, I typically had to rerun tray alignment every week or two or when changing stocks, but alignment would stay fairly consistent between sheets in a run of 1,000. At around 800,000 prints if I remember correctly the duplex assembly in the right side door went bad and we started getting excessive skew and offset when duplexing, more than we could fix with the alignment setting, and could also hear a quiet but noticeable squealing sound from the metal roller there. We replaced the duplex assembly and all was well, but that only happened once in 1.4 million 11x17 prints.

Hi, I am having this problem too. It is only happening with the bypass tray. If nothing is changing even after being done in diagnostic mode what can be the problem?
