    Hi,
We're having a problem with our DC240 for a few weeks now with several engineer call outs, without fully curing the problem. When sending a b/w job through CW5 roughly every third page has a fuzzy magenta line running vertically through the sheet. At first it was two thirds across the page, running full lenght top to bottom, now it is half way through the sheet (A3) top to bottom. The engineers have changed drums, dev tanks, reloaded the software on the embedded rip. The only workaround that we had some success with is to change the full output setting to quick under basic setting in the colourwise section of CW5.
We're using both Mac and PC. Change the job setting to colour and the b.w job works fine, but is too expensive to run that way!
    Help!

This is hardware problem. The problem is in the so called DS caps. The distance between the drum and dev unit is to small.
If you are not throwing away your old drums, lets say you have one that is from 6 months. Advice your tech to swap them or he can put some duck tape on DS caps and by this it will increase the distance. But be aware going too much will trigger the old problem with inboard to outboard density not even.
    Good luck.

    Hi,

I have the same problem with my Docucolor 240 but only that magenta is printed fuzzy on color prints and does not superimpose correctly ( it moves 1-2mm over the place it should be).

Could you please tell me how did you solve your problem?

    Thanks in advance
