Default Maintenance/Service requirement for Doc12
How often is maintenance required on a Xerox Docucolor 12?

Is a Doc12 a machine that you can buy used and be relatively happy with, or do you need a full service contract on it for regular service to keep running with good quality?

You need a service contract. They are so old even an unopened one, in the box lost in some warehouse will need it.

And when it does break Technicians are the area of $100-$350 an hour, and that is from a Xerox tech who is working under the table for you to the same Xerox tech who Xerox sent over during the day : )

If you are not doing a lot of volume you may consider a 3rd party dealer.
