mottling / streaking issue Press: Xeikon DCP-50D Stock: Meadware Sterling Ultra Digital 100# Gloss Text We have recently had some mottling / streaking show up on our prints. See the attached PDF for a visual. Also attached is a PDF of the script settings for the paper above. OBSERVATIONS • The lines are running along the web • It occurs on most stocks (the 100# text is the worst) • The initial 5-10 prints do not have the streaking, but the more copies you print, the worse it gets • Lowering the Positive / Negative Duplex helps, but even at the lowest settings (40/20), the mottling does not disappear. • Raising the Positive / Negative Duplex looks horrible • Raising the Transfer seems to help somewhat, but not sufficiently Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Mottling can be eliminated by first steadily increasing the U2 by 20-50 at a time till the mottling goes away. Also, to speed up the conditioning process increase t2n2 by 10-15 to dry the paper faster. So first before you print increase t2n2 by 10-15 and then steadily increase U2 by say 50 at a time and watch for mottle elimination. Streaking can be reduced by cleaning your cleaning unit, corotrons and teds. Call me at 818-782-2221 and I have a question for you. My name is Walter Dantas and I run a Xeikon 50 D in Los Angeles.

Hi, Its me again. I've seen your pdf and it seems your streaking is occuring as a result of your erase wires on your teds. The solution for this is either to replace your wires on your ted or follow this instruction: 1. Print a the same file and start removing each ted one at a time on the y side first to see if the sparking disappears. If it does then that particular ted is responsible and you may have to replace the erase or positive wire. 2. Follow the same procedure for the x side is the problem still presists. And this will fix your problem. Walter (818) 782-2221
