Hey guys, So most of the jobs we run on our web offset presses are for dot-matrix printers and so we use punches to create the holes. We are generally able to capture about 90% of the punch holes with our confetti waste extraction system but the other 10% gets stuck in the press frames and flies all over the floor. This is a real pain as it makes the entire factory floor a mess. Have any of you guys found a good way to capture 100% of it? Cheers!
It would be nice to install a secondary vacuum with drop trays to catch the punches which are scattered. I know of a few machines with homemade catch trays and they tapped directly into their primary waste extraction system. I would not suggest tapping into the primary line because it can create other issues. A secondary vacuum would be better.
