Hi everyone, I am starting out a small home business to print business cards. I have done a lot of freelance work previously (years ago) and sourced my print jobs to the printers. I am now starting to freelance again and looking for a printer that will print business cards on heavy card stock.

As it has been 5 years since I was in the business, not sure if it will pick up again and want a low cost solution for now. I was looking at the Xerox phaser 7500N which prints up to 100lb cover stock.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you so much! :)

I don't have an opinion on the 7500N but I have printed BCs on 130# cover and I currently have a request for magnetic media and plastics.

I have used the 7500N before for business cards. It does a pretty good job and it’s relatively affordable, so I would say go for it!

Depends on the throughput you are looking at. IF you are going to be running ALOT, you might overwhelm the little 7500. And if running mostly card stock, expect a little extra down time, supplies cost. But that's the same for any printer.

    Quality is good though.

Xerox has really come around in my book lately. Igen is a solid performer...

Ha-ha, sure the I-Gen a solid performer, over x200-300 times the price of Phaser-7500 its better be, but I don't think that Mr. JTDesign will read the replies and say: - Oh, allrighty then, phaser 7500 is not bad for a $4000 printer, but IGen is better - I think I will go with $1,000,000+ IGen, it will only occupy entire garage and I will need to be 150lb slim to squeeze around and people park their cars on the driveways and streets all the time :)
Sorry for being a little sarcastic - I mean it in a friendly way.

Sorry - it appears this thread was originally posted incorrectly in the iGen forum; moving thread now to the small laser printer forum.
