Advantages of friction-feed tower collators over older Bourg AE horizontal collators?

    Other than space, what advantages do current friction feed tower collators have over the older horizontal Bourg AE collators?

    The Bourg AE22 and AE30 collators / stitcher / folder / stacker systems come up on ebay for a great value, and I'm wondering if it's worth considering or if the current friction-feed tower systems have major advantages.
