Indigo Ink / Print Cost

Including ink and durable/consuable parts, what is the typical cost per print for medium - high coverage 11x17 prints run on an indigo "inkjet" digital press / printer? Where does an Indigo fit in the scale of color copier and DI presses for cost per print in runs of 1000 - 2000?

 

Nearly all indigos are on click charge maintenance service contracts, this is a fixed cost negotiated with your supplier and include all consumables (except paper) and servicing, so say 1 copy costs you 10 pence, then 100 will cost you £10.(these vary), whereas the DI presses are more like traditional litho based; i.e. you pay for the plates and the ink (the ink cost depends on coverage), and then you pay someone to service it. If you are talking print runs of 1000 - 2000 then you are better off with the DI. Some copiers such as the Konica Minoltas are the best in terms of cost per page at small quantities only. There are some amazing deals on DI presses at the moment.
