I just purchased a Ricoh SP 420DN and have concerns about what I call banding in solid blocks of color. (Basically I'm not getting even coverage of ink.) When I spoke to Ricoh tech support, they didn't have any idea of what I meant by banding. I'm also concerned that I don't have the correct drivers or color profiles installed--tech support said they couldn't help me because they don't have Adobe products ( I'm on a Mac OSX, using Adobe Illustrator/Acrobat/InDesign). It was frustrating because they couldn't help me and there seems to be little documentation about this printer and Macintosh interfaces; Ricoh's Knowledgebase seems to only reference Windows' applications. Does anyone have any experience with this printer? I tested some of my files on this printer before purchasing and the tests look so much better than what I'm seeing now. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Ellen

the typical helpful and friendly ricoh
seems to me that once they made the sale they dont want to know, do you know that it once took me an hour to order toner from ricoh as they were saying i had to pay for it. (im on a click charge by the way and was all payed up).. Needless to say im now with konica minolta and the service is fantastic.
i think ricoh is getting so big buying other companies that they dont really know whats happening them selves. I still have a machine and finisher to be picked up by them which was meant to go over a month ago, last time i spoke to them i told them if its not gone by june i would ebay it:D
