Can anyone shed some light on which of these machines would be a better choice for my company in making a limited amount using 6 to 8 28 lb. 11 by 17 booklets front and back, book total 12 to 16 pages. I guess I am asking which is just overall better machine. Quality, reliability, service ect..

    Hi Tray3,
Sorry I'm not familiar with the Canon product line they have a very small share of the local marketplace when it comes to "production" installations. I am very familiar with the Ricoh c651/751ex . This product was very successful for Ricoh due to its excellent registartion and very stable color consistency. The in-line booklet maker should work very well for your application and can be ordered with a face trimmer. There is also an on-line/off-line booklet maker option available with three sided trimming. I should also mention that the maximum media weight is only 300gsm which is a bit low but I have successfully run much heavier stocks from time to time (up to 350 gsm and one 20 point stock from Mohawk that had gsm value in the mid 300's). The re-designed and much newer version of this machine is the Pro 7100/7110 which will be much more expensive to purchase but should offer a much lower cost/copy and features sheets up to 700mm long (27.5 inches), a max rated media of 360 GSM and 5th station which allows the user to swap from clear to white ink. Hope this helps.
