Can current model Ricohs compete with the print quality of Canon or Xerox?

Can any current-model Ricoh printers compete with the color and finish quality of current Canon Imagerunners or Xerox Docucolors?

Do Ricoh machines still run dirtier?
 
Ricoh's run much cleaner now. The color quality on a Ricoh CAN compete with Canon and Xerox. Ricoh has yet to release an answer to the Graphic machines from Canon or Xerox. On a business color level, ricoh is very competative.

    Business being the key word here. Of course it can produce good quality copies that any manager would be happy printing his TPS reports cornflower blue logo on. But quality? It's hard to compete with 2400 Dpi...
     
    On top of that Jeff, look at service and downtime. Service is debatable but the quality of the machine is not. The last revision of their color machines were running so hot they were warping the frame! Our B+W Ricohs can't run anything but light text on 80# cover, and die anytime we put any sort of load on them. It's not a single problem, but an engineering one inherent in Ricoh's designs.

    Jeff, you are a commercial printer right? Not a office manager or a designer, but someone who will be running 12x18 12pt and expect that damn machine to run correctly! Even if the image quality got up there it wouldn't fit your business model.

    If you are in the NYC area and would like a demo of Savin/Ricoh machines...

    The Savin Portal in the city is the place to go for some hands on...
    My showroom in Bohemia LI will be open after July 18... I'm not sure what machines will be there right away...
    The Riso hc 5500 full color inkjet does 500k a month, variable data, up to 110 stock, 600 dpi... the direct mail marketers love it...it does a nice job for what it is.. not a hi graphics machine....but there is a market for what it is as a money maker and the operating cost is really low... msrp around 42k... there-I said it.

    I'm a new member, but have been contempleting going for Ricoh C811dn Color Printer, Can you advise the way forward on this?

    cpf, I would be happy to discuss that ricoh machine with you on Monday 9-28. I get back into town that day from vacation. I have had it for 8 months and have run a ton of clicks through it. I can give you the pros and cons easier than typing back and forth before you spend your money.

    RICOH color addition

    RICOH's new C900 Pro Production device should satisfy all our needs - formal intro at GraphExpo. 90 ppm, 12 pt, 12x18 great. Lots of finishing available and I've been told the price point is there.
     
    Stay Away from the Ricoh C811DN

    We leased a Ricoh C811DN with booklet finisher based on a review I had read and the specs, and have been very unhappy with it. The driver is very fickle, jobs rarely print right the first time through, the finisher is MUCH more limited than I was led to believe, and the counter is counting my black & white pages in mixed documents as color. If I could get out of my lease today I would. We used to use a Tektronix 840 and then Tektronix 850, and though they are different size machines, the Tektronix was MUCH easier to print with.

    With all due respect the Ricoh C811dn is fine for short run color or not color critical jobs. Since the system does not have a fiery, it really doesn't have a home in print4pay.

    I have two of these systems in the field at P4P's, bother are ok, but you need to know when to use them and when not to use them. As far as the meter clicking color for black prints, I'd have to see all of the driver settings for the PCL or the RPCS drivers. I have not heard of this before reading on this forum. Anyhow brings me to maintenance clicks for the C811DN, these are laser printers and they will run very well, they are not as service intensive as color digital copiers and are designed for the user to replace the consumable items. Here in lies the savings, if you have a cost per click charge that is all inclusive you're are padding the dealers wallet, all for the thought "that toner is included".

    Get service as you need it and replaced consumables as needed and your cost per page could run a few cents lower than the cost per page that they are charging.

    I don't sell these machines, so I call it like I see it. I use them for a living, or at least try to. Anything that slows down my workflow is costly. The Ricoh RPCS driver software is insufficient for quickly changing paper sizes and weights, and for the booklet finisher. Now that I've finally sorted out other issues with the finisher and gotten it printing, I'm really enjoying emptying it after every 8 booklets -- at this rate I might as well go back to hand collation.

    Please which Color Laserjet among these (HP, Canon, Ricoh, Xerox etc series) can print smooth color and black/white 255grms weight A3 and above size paper especially for Cards?

    That can be used for commercial volume printing at a reduce cost close to Impression printing cost
     
    The Ricoh C900 has a Hitachi engine in it with various finishing options. If you are looking to make the jump into the digital color market maybe start with the IKON CPP560 or 660. If you already have the volume, 75 - 100k per month, then this machine is perfect fit. Its price point is close to half of the Canon 7000vp.

    RICOH's C900 delivers exceptional color and reliable performance. I would recommend anyone interested in a color production system to take a look at this system. Everyone that I have helped with this new system is extremely happy with its performance and output.
     
    Can the current Ricoh MP C2030 match the performance of the Canon 3200N or the Xerox C400?
    The Ricoh is able the take 256gsm card stock but what about color consistancy? Any comments?

    Using A3 Black and White Laserjet Printer for color seperation, which among the following printers (Ricoh, Canon, HP) can produce a clean digital quality film seperation if not on digital machine?

    Or Can we also use a Color Laserjet Printer for the similar jobs?

    What film can best fit to this?
