Looking for reviews comparing print quality, cost of ownership, and cost per print of a Canon Color imageRUNNER C5180 and a Xerox WorkCentre 7665

Canon imagerunners have more natural color wihch I prefer, except for skin tones; xerox 7665 is bolder and punchier, but has a better finish quality still IMO.

  • Our small publishing company leased a new C5180 which worked fine for a few months, then it started making screeching sounds. The maintenance contractor fixed that then we started having a host of problems. You name it we had it: constant jamming, color inconsistency, skewing (lots of problems with this). The net result (over a period of 8 months) was the printer was out of commission more than 50% of the time by the maintenance company records. We tried to get out of lease with no luck and am involved in legal action. I don't know if this is a universal problem or we just got hold of a lemon. Based on our experience I would pick anything over a Canon ImageRunner.

    Canon C5180 Problems

We've had very similar problems with our leased Canon IR C5180. We've had it for two years. It's down more than up. It became such a problem we leased yet another printer (different make) to keep the business going. Happily, that one has been reliable.

Three months into the lease it exhibited problems with:

    color registration, alignment, jamming, etc.

The number of service calls was 50+ in the first 18 months and it's been rebuilt twice.

    Considering legal action.
