printing on canvas for outside use

i don't know where exactly i should post this item so i'll try here.
We are looking to have a few canvasses printed for an exhibition. It should be used inside as well as outside. The print contains text and info about our company.
We are looking for an ecological alternative, so printing with waterbased inks on canvas seems the best option but i'm not sure that brings out the best in colours. When used outside it wopuld alos let too much light through.

can anyone tell me what they think a valuable option would be/which material would be properly suited for this?. We are not interested in inks with solvents, so that pretty much leaves out a lot of options.
