Outsourcing Plate making

We have been direct to plate for 10+ years. Our plate setter is getting old and we are considering getting a new/used platesetter vs. outsourcing all of our plate making.

1. Is anyone currently outsourcing your plate making?
2. What are the pro's and con's of outsourcing in your opinion?
3. If you are outsourcing what is your plate volume?
4. What issues did you run into if you transitioned from in-house to outsourcing?

Why not buy a brand new Chinese CTP. There are some good ones.
