I am running a Mitsubishi/Purup DPX 5080 CTP. I am looking to invest in a dot meter to linearize the system. Any suggestions?

Also can a press room densitometer be used for this? My thoughts were to use the Murray-Daves dot % value for black, read the plate patch and use the reciprocal of the value....i.e. if I read a 75% dot on a press sheet the value should read close to 75% on the densitometer. But if I read the same value patch on a black plate the value is around 25%, a thus the reciprocal is 75%....would this be a reasonably accurate way to get a linear curve for the plates?

Please visit our website, www.ihara-us.com, for more information on digital plate readers. We have two models, i.e., AccuDot digital plate reader and LithoCAM II digital plate readers. Please contact us at your convenience and we can explain the pros and cons in using a standard densitometer to measure dot percentages on plates.

    Automated Calibration System

We got a Bureau service CTP with photopolymer plates wich are very sensitive to enviromental changes, so we start controlling the (measuring them) with a Lithocam, that is very recomendable, the only issue is that should be attached to a pc, but is very flexible, I m electronic Enginnering and modified that for making a automated closed loop densitemetry plate controller using a simple web cam and overwriting the calibration file in our RIP (Harlequin RIP), that has been very usefull for improving the quality, estability and reducing the operator time waste, I sugest you the Lithocam any adittional information mail me..
