CTP curves for gray balance

I would like to know if there are any member on the list who has made (or using) CTP plate curves in order to get gray balance on press that match standards printing specs like ISO 12647-2 Gracol 7 or SWOP?

I have done a number of setups with plate curves to adjust gray balance. The key is the software you use to optimize and the starting gray balance at the 50% tint. You need to adjust from the mid tone to get the best results

 

Here is what we do, the images show our custom color bars for our 2 up portrait presses. We run inkjet ctp and run to gray balance:
(1) linerize plates
(2) test print on press for proper dot gain of each color independently & make correction curves, repeat test again until correct on press
(3) make adjustment curves for gray balance until correct
(4) run to the numbers (proper ink density)

Best thing we ever did bar none for process color work. Our customes love our color quality and consistency. Press checks are right the first time every time. Save your money on G7 and take a vacation.

 

I can help with the “wanted” numbers for the rip. A good press sheet is used for the “measured” values and your all set to print to gray balance!
