Canon IPF5000 inkjet New iPF5000 and can't sort out the software

I have a new iPF5000 and have installed software on Mac Pro Intel tower with latest OS 10.4.9 and CS3 Suite. I don't have CS2.

I can't sort out the software. I'm physically printing, but I'd give the prints a 6 on a 10 scale. I've checked the Canon site for drivers, but there doesn't seem to be much for OSX users. Firmware seems to be current at 1.08.

I'm told I cannot use the Plug-In with CS3, but may use the Driver, but the driver I've installed doesn't allow me to do much. I don't see a "Main" tab, so my driver is different from a Canon demo I saw two days ago.

I'd like to print on some LexJet-supplied paper, Sunset Photo eSatin, and have copied the Lexjet-supplied profile into the Root Drive > Library > Colorsync > Profiles, but I don't see that profile appearing in the the computer setup or on the printer.

I had a sample print done this past weekend at the Look3 Photo Festival in Charlottesville, VA by the Canon team on site with their iPF5000 and the print is stunning. I'm trying to get there.

Anyone here who can help?
