Hi, am having the same problem with my epson 9800, its been great for five years, had a new print head a year ago, all of a sudden when I say print a roll up banner black ink sploges appear at indefinate intervals sometimes off the image and sometimes on the image, have had an engineer down to look at it but he could not resolve the problem and was mystified as to what was causing it, does anyone have any suggestions? help needed

Are you both stating that the ink doesn't come out at times or is leaking more than expected; or both?
If it's not printing out properly (sometimes streaky lines or spots), it may be a clogged nozzle issue. Best option is to create a 1"x1" box in a photo program and fill it with the color that is giving problems. This way it should "only" print that color and push any air bubbles or clogs that may be holding the ink in.

If it's printing more than expected (leaking per say), it may have a damaged nozzle or the print head may be going.
