    I have been looking at some Rolands as a cheaper alternative to Heidelberg. The machines i get offered have lots of letters on the end; some say TL some say TLV and others LTTL.

    What do these letters mean :confused:

    Thanks in advance, BoggyB.

    All of those are To Do with the coater, although i have run many different rolands and other presses ive never run a PRess with a coater but...

    LTTL im pretty sure means it has a Double Coater
    TLV is the name of the earlier Coaters i think
    TL im not sure about, might be the same as TLV shortened but dont quote me on that.

    If you looking for a press in uk let me know what you need and ill try to get you one nice and cheap... :)

    L = Lack/Coating
    T = Tranfer unit
    V = Verlaengerung/Extension

    Old presses have TLV beause the coating unit was installed on a Transfer unit.
    New presses are LV which is L = Coater and V = Verlaengerung/Extension.
    Every press with a coater had a extension not like Heidelberg which gave you a choice.
    LTTLV is like a double coter with 2 stub units hwich usally have driers installed.
    MAN Roland is no cheap alternative so you as good of with a MAN Roland as you are with a Heidelberg.

    Thank you rolandman. I believe "V" is for "extended" but "X" seems to be something for "extra". May be,for example, Roland Inline sorter has two delivery piles. Anybody there with a sure answer???
