I'm running a 700, 8c perfector, yr 2000, and the feeder pulls in the sheet it trips on. As a matter of fact it will pull in any sheet placed by the infeed when running/ideling. The cover-plates (hooks) continue to go up and down, even with feeder shut off. Can anyone tell me why, or which parts might be worn/broken? This is causing alot of blanket smashes, and pulling ripped-up paper out of the machine, not to mention clearing all of the detector errors.

We had the same problem on ours i seem to remember the engineer took a part off under the infeed on the operators side, and their was play in a bearing and i think a cam follower, it was stopping the feeder from checking.

You need to check to see if the trip cylinder under the feeder table/register is activated when a trip occurs. If it is, you have a mechanical problem. If it is not, you may have a bad output card, bad solenoid valve, bad piston...etc.
