It's too bad. Saturday delivery of flats was a good backup for magazines and pieces not delivered on time on Thursday/Friday. People often have some time to read on the weekend, and so if Saturday delivery is dropped it means if your piece misses Friday it's into the next week on Monday. This is unfortunately just another small erosion of what was once taken for granted, and I'm afraid another area where online now has another leg up on print delivery. Still, I don't know how much more room there is for rates to increase since in this economic and print publication reality subscription prices are not likely to have room to pass along more cost increases of delivery.
