I have been using a Z3100 PS GP 44" for about 6 years. I have always used my apple to print to it. Every 6 months or so the printer refuses to print. There is nothing wrong with the printer. It will always print an internal print perfectly. Right now it's happening again. My tech says it's a driver issue. I'm using to latest driver, and firmware and OSX operating system. I was printing from photoshop 5. Now I can only print from Photoshop 3 and that is still unreliable.

Anybody had these problems or any advice? I'm at my wits end with this printer. It makes gorgeous prints but the apple drivers are pathetic.

We have a Z3200 that seems to have a mind of its own. Ours is the PS version that has a crude built-in RIP, Sometimes it'll "nest" and print several pix across the roll paper width and sometimes it won't. The HP techie doesn't know why either!

When it's good, its very, very good but when it's bad it's horrid!

Do you have a PC you could try?

I agree, when it is good the prints are fantastic. I do have a windows partition on my computer. I hope to never have to try and use it to print. I'm still printing from CS3 for now.

I won't be buying another HP

We should content ourselves with its frugal use of ink plus the superlative print quality when it deigns to perform properly.

After 6 rolls of paper, half of the fun-size cartridges that came with the machine are still part-full. LG seems to be the only colour that gets used in quantity plus the gloss enhancer. Very different from our old Epson.
