    Hello,
I am new here, just recently bought a used HP 5000ps and it came with some extra dye ink and the tube/printhead setup that I am not going to use. After looking at the cartridges closely, I see that they are from 2000 and a few from 2002. I think they were used along with the tube/printhead setup along time ago. But the main question I have is whether or not the ink is possibly still good to use? Is there an expiration? I know I probably couldn't get too much money, but there is a significant amount of ink in them. There are 7 cartridges, one of each color and and extra black. The tube system has dried ink in it and I am not sure if it is worth anything and all of the printheads and cleaners seem to be used in a bag. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

I attached a few pics of the tube system and the inks. I did find an article on HP's website that said only certain inks expire, located here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...rica&product=441231&docname=c01764161&lang=en

Yes, there is expiration term, but I think it is more for manufacturer insurance, as the ink might loose some qualities... But I think it is still usable...

I have this same situation. So, did you try the old ink? Did it work?? I considered warming the old cartridges in an oven, then shake 'em up good before using. Anyhow, let us know what happened!!! -Mark
