Hi there, we have a job to run out on the bizhub c6000. It's a great piece of kit but we're noticing the reds from our old xerox docu240 are a lot deeper/richer. The bizhub is outputting an orange/red in comparison. I've tried different profiles and running the job as RGB which made a tiny bit of difference, but no luck. The color balance in the KM rip just ramp the curves. Since we're outputting a m=100% y=100% theres no difference. Any suggestions?

I noticed that on my machine recently.
You can adjust channels on a job by job basis, modify the output profile or create a new output profile, a better idea than modifying the machine default.

Assuming Command Workstation with Fiery Productivity Package/Colorwise
To modify a single job held in the cue, right click the job and select Image Viewer. From the Color Adjust panel, Curves tab you would click a color (eyeball) and select/drag/modify the ramps per color.

To create a new output profile - Device Center (tab) - Resources (tab) - Profiles
Expand the Output Profiles tree, right click, Edit Profile for paper type; Coated or Uncoated
The Color Editor dialog has a Custom & % tab. On the Custom tab you can change areas of the ramps; on the % tab you can enter values to change the linear.
Clicking Save prompts for a name - suggest you do not overwrite the default. Assign a new name for this Output Profile.
This output profile can be enabled per job or set as a default (?).
Keep in mind, to use this profile for a job in the held que, you need to right click the job in cue, choose Remove Raster Data and re-process the job. (You could check the color values in Image Viewer to verify the changes have been made.)

Also, and this really tripped me up recently (same job), selecting different Image Halftone Screen from a job properties (Image Tab) drastically changed my colors. (I had a job whereas the RGB image neutral highlights were obscenely yellow. Dot 2 gave me smoother shades vs Dot 1; Dot 1 correctly rendered the neutrals, Dot 2 did not. Deeper investigation into the print engine showed that Dot 1 was 150 or 175 lpi; Dot 2 was perhaps 133 lpi.)

    thanks for reply

The profile saving is useful but with the halftone suggestion since it's a solid hit of magenta and yellow the 'redness' of the red wont be effected by it.

What I did notice on the a few jams were the paper stopped midway in the fuser was the temperature may make a difference. Since the red were it had been over heated was richer and glossier... I remember the sales guy demoing the machine on some of my supplied cheap horrible Chinese paper and turning the temp down.

    Anyhow will keep investigating. Thanks.
