I recently owned a Minolta QMS magicolor 2300W and was able to refill the toner cartridges and reset them so the printer would continue to use them (saves money and is environmentally friendly). Unfortunately, the optical sensor inside the unit that detects the cartridge switch from empty to full has failed.

I replaced this with a magicolor 1600W. But now, I cannot figure out how to reset the cartridges. Any help would be appreciated. Even how to do this on similar models might be helpful.
    Thanks,
    David

    ryan,
I believe you're right about the chips, and it is annoying since this makes it very difficult to refill the cartridges. I've seen some of these "import" chip sites and am leery of them as well. Thanks for the feedback.
