    Hi,

I am looking for any reviews on the Konica Minolta C70hc.
Any information on the following will be helpful
    1) built in RIP functions and ability to profile.
    2) any known paper jamming issues?
    3) double sided printing alignment issues if any
    4) any other know issue

Any thoughts will be appreciated. I am in the process of purchasing the machine and cannot find enough information.

    Thank you

    Rodney

i have a70hc with inbuilt konica colour server
    no paper jamming issues
    Main issues are
    1) with double sided printing alignment in papers below 130gsm
    2) with custom size paper setting such as 320x487 mm size papers, the printer shows memory full and does not print.
    3) company demanding this as a studio album printing machine have a swirling problem with technova 125micron lmo paper, which the service engineer ignored.
    4) then the double picking problem with the above said paper.
    5) It gave good skin tones first and now is missing that tone.
    6) Problem with lamination. Most of the lamination films fail to give good result. But this is a problem with most of the laser based prints.

To say about print quality, it is almost 100% equal to HP Indigo which costs almost 5 times the price of this machine.

Hi My self basavaraj from India i am professional photographer with 8 years experience in whole process of album making right print to finish product and even handled sales of photobooks. I worked as a HP Indigo 3500 operator and other finishing equipments in a well know company in India. Presently planning to buy Konica minolta 70hc machine for photobook making. Would like to know more about the machine.
    1. Mainly on colors can i be able reduce the black density with profile and color setting as black gives a bit embossed effect in konica compared to indigo due to its imaging process.
    2. Can i get color cosistence b/w same album printed in 2 different timings.

    konica minolta c70hc,

hey basavaraj, you cannot compare hp indigo with konica, hp indigo is an liquid toner technology where ink is absorbed into media giving no raised effects, whereas in konica, toner technology , toner is fixed in surface of media giving raised effects.

    2. but when you compare color reproduction, it will match 100% to indigo, where the engine cost is 10 times higher

3.only problem is during lamination, raised effects will seen only in glossy lamination, not in matt or velvet

    4. in indian market konica c70hc predominatly accepted in photo market, where it still finds place among huge presses, and running smoothly due to low engine and production costs

    5. And yes you can maintain consistency between two albums, profile settings are easily manageable and calibiration can be done by xrite or other means, to ensure matching between two albums,if you are still in doubt, wait for c71 hc launch with new improved high chroma toners and new mixing of toner and developer tech to ensure absolute matching between 1st and 5000th print
