Lost client notifications C452

Hi,
I am trying to help a friend solve her problem with print
notifications. Until recently her computer would tell her when
print jobs had finished..so she would know before going to the
computer room to pick up her jobs. Then the intern managing
the server changed the server and client ip numbers. Now
print notifications no longer work..I spent a while looking for a
fix and explored the print driver specifications..no luck. I was
hoping someone knew where or how to fix this issue.
