what should press be packed at plate and blanket.i pack plate at .005 over bearer and blanket at bearer height.

There should be an information plate on the last unit that gives the packing information for the press. Are you having print length issues or simply not 'bottoming' the sheet?

on black unit i get a toning line across blanket about 4 inches wide and about a third of the way back from gripper.I was told years ago to pack plate at bearer height and blanket (compressible)at .004 over bearer.But now im told plate should be .004-.005 over bearer and blanket at bearer height.Do u think my blanket issue could be rollers even though they are set to specs.Any help much appreciated.

It might be that your ink form rollers are moving left to right.

If you over pack the plate and under pack the blanket like you are doing. You might not get enough squeeze from your blanket to light weight paper.
