Hi All

I have a PDC-S head that won't calibrate. Is there anyone besides the manufacturer who can assist with servicing this item????

PDC-S is made by X-RITE , not by Komori
they can service it direct or you can exchange with komori - but it is not cheap...

what model is it and on what press?

 

Just a shot in the dark here...If it's X-rite and fitted with a rechargeable battery,it may be that the battery is sh@gg@d and won't hold charge. Even if it's mains powered, with a worn battery they won't calibrate.

As far as i know (and i know i do , even when the Battary is dead , it is more than replacing it - the head needs treatment.
X rite allow only qualified personal to do the job , not every one.
You could do it your self and end up with the head still dead and when you get it to the service they will charge you again for the same job.....
In my life time (short) i have learned that shortcuts are good when no other choice , but if yoy have a choice , the roight way is the best anbd ends up cheaper.

I had a customer who ended up paying 9000 Euro for a PDC head when it was for nothing , it was simply bad set up on the program , but he did nit listen...and no way back.

I will not sell you a PDC-S head - i have no interest , nor hold anu shares.... go the rigjht way - go X-Rite

 

We had a similar issue with our handheld unit...£80 sterling for a new X-rite battery or £8.00 for an equivalent that I soldered up as per the dead one...these are cash-strapped times...(BTW our X-rite is still going strong a year after the battery change).

However, for the PDC??? You're rite, right ;-)

 

When was the last time the head went out for service? If it has been a few years, then the light bulb is probably out of tolerance.

 

So what's the problem
buy a new bulb at the DIY store and change it....... but it does not work this way.
save your self time & money - go fix it at the right place - X-Rite or via Komori
This is the cheap way.....

Software version ?
Have seen this a few times in the past,
from memory there is a bug in the software for 2 colour jobs

 

X-Rite doesn't support the ATD, ATS or PDC-S anymore, however at Lithronix we do!
