We have a LS40P 40 with an extended delivery. There are pistons on the bottom of the ramp going up that raise and lower the ramp. The ramp seems to arbitrarily go up and down while machine is running. Anyone have any knowledge of such a devive and why does the press have this??

    Mystery ramp

Seems that the ramp is used during the perfecting process. The ramp drops down 4 to 5 inches. This keeps the sheet from marking on the down side when perfecting. The issue we have is it goes up and down when in straight print. I was told it could be a solenoid acting up causing this. Thanks for the response.
