We're experiencing a huge problem with our amr screen that controls basic functions like twisting and apc on our 8 colour..

A few days ago it failed it start up but checked there is a power light coming on,
we cannot do anything on this press without the screen and the komori support in south africa is extremely bad!

We have a non komori tech guy here who is quite clued up and normally fixes any electrical and computer based issues we have but even he seems doubtful about this problem ...

If anyone has any insight to this problem help would be greatly appeciated!

Have you tried shining a flashlight at it at an angle? Sometimes it is just the backlight that has failed. If so, with a flashlight you can usually see a little dim image of the screen and actually use it. If it has no image and does not function at all you might want to think about buying a new POD. Keep in mind there is a press specific program loaded in it. Sometimes you can copy it with a cable and program, or with a USB or with a flash memory card. Worst case scenario order a new POD from Komori.

I would not buy a standard UG420H POD to replace yours unless you have somebody who is familiar with them; that has the proper software and cable to verify that the original program on yours is viable. I have repaired a few POD's in the past, so it is possible if you know somebody who is handy with electronics. . . Otherwise you will need to buy it from Komori and again, they are press specific.
