Jimmy:

what model of komori you have?

Is there some moment that the papers is taken firmly by the grippers after the transfer to the next cylinder (or chain delivery)?

I am asking this because if the grippers take firmly the paper, the point is on the position of the cam (angle), otherwise if the paper is taken softly, the point is on the setting of grippers.

Check this point before you take an action

Can you inch the press to a position where the follower is off the cam?

If so hold the follower firmly and see if there is any movement at right angles to the follower shaft. If there is you'll need to replace it.

Is your Komori a Sprint or Lithrone? On Lithrone series there are two followers to each cylinder - so check both.

Weekly shot of quality grease can extend the life of these components considerably.

Good luck.

Hi Jimmy,
I think from what i have read you need to change the cam, Just one question is it happening every sheet or every other sheet??? Also what type model and year is your press.

Kind Regards,
KD

Thinking about it KD could well be right - the cam may be worn in a certain position and since Komori's grippers are cam closed not spring closed this is a distinct possibility and worth checking out.

It's more usual for the follower bearing to wear rather than the cam, which was my first instinct.
