Okay, you guys want a challenge? I have one unit in which the APC doesn't work. The reason is that the little slotted button on the operator side which allows the cam to rotate has broken. When that happens, one is able to open and close the gripper by using a 13mm wrench on the other end of the camshaft. It is on the drive side, just outside the bearer. That's great...until the wrench slips a few times and the bolthead becomes rounded.

I have disassembled to the point where I can replace the broken button. That's the easy part, I've done that before. But here's my question: Has anyone ever tried to replace the stub bolt on the gear side? What's the trick?

Or, to be more specific...has anyone ever removed and reinstalled the entire clamp assemblies? I have, several times now. Finally got everything clean, readjusted (hence the "several" part), and working perfectly again. Fun.
